https://fox6now.com/2020/06/21...hoplifter-im-fed-up/ You go granny! The only thing I hate is that they left her unarmed, and the thugs know it.

That is also what happens in Ausralia.

Shame she missed! If every little dickhead robber gets shot to death there won’t be so many spring up! Crime only flourishes where there is no justice!

She didn't miss, Saeed! She shot him in the fucking back because she "suspected" he was trying to steal a beverage. I hope granny likes TN prison slop, she's going to ( deservedly ) be eating it for a while.

Shame it was not in his head! Anyone breaking into any place to commit a crime should be carried out! Stone dead!

You are judge, jury, & executioner here on AR. But, thank God, your utterly simplistic notion won't float where this alleged crime occurred. I'm stunned a generous and learned individual such as yourself, could justify taking another human being's life because you thought at that moment he was trying to steal your ginger beer.

I repeat. Criminals should be punished. Why was he stealing from her? The difference between your country and mine is stark! We have very low crime rate. Yours thrives on crimes. A criminal here gets a lesson to never repeat it. In yours he is almost given a medal, and the victim is punished!

Criminals should be punished. On this we agree. In this country the accused is afforded due process and guaranteed a day in court in front a jury of his peers. If convicted I believe the punishment should fit the crime. There is no need to point out the stark differences in criminal justice in our respective parts of the world. I am also aware of the cultural differences. Just recently I viewed a documentary, at the conclusion of which, a person who had been accused, convicted, and sentenced by the government was marched to Deera Square in Riyadh, forced to kneel, poked with the point of the sword to stiffen them up, and their head lopped off. For witchcraft. Does the punishment fit the crime? IMHO no. Is it my cultural bias? Perhaps. But I am willing to wager that even in the United Arab Emirates, suspected shoplifters aren't shot in the back before they get out of the grocery market. .

Well, as far as I am concerned anyone caught red handed, shoot him. There is no justice in America. You have a convoluted, corrupt LEGAL system and it is not working. Both sides loose and only the bloody vultures benefit!

The only person with red hands in this case is Kensco's folk hero, back-shootin' granny. .

Ty, FYI, don't get caught in Williamson Co., Tx.doing ANYTHING. The rules have a tendency to change here. Never mistake motion for action.

The best way to violate Ty is to turn around immediately and slowly walk out the door. Personally, if you were to do anything to me or mine, I don't care which way you're faced. Another thing that I don't like, is that if someone steals from you, you are not allowed (in Texas) to use force to stop the robbery ...... unless you can prove you feared for your life. "If you even point a gun at someone else, you can be charged with deadly conduct even if you never fire the weapon or never intend to fire it. It's enough that you intentionally brandish the weapon and know, or should know, that such an act poses a danger to someone else." You've become the bad guy. So let's assume you have a Rolex your grandfather gave you, and someone walks up and strips it off your wrist, turns quickly and slowly walks away grinning (or not grinning). You have a pistol on you legally. Do you just allow him to walk away with your Rolex while flipping you off, or do you "fear" for your life and put a buttonhole in his back. I know this is not an official poll, but I vote for "buttonhole". I am still on Granny's side.

I vote buttonhole and agree with Saeed. USA has grown too soft

I agree completely. Another anecdote from back in the 70s when we had the Yankee exodus down here. Not the same I admit but similar in the thought process. When I shot a neighbors dog for killing my chickens they took me to court for killing their dog. Long way around the barn but the judge's finding was that when a man kills vermin, I don't consider it his right, I consider it his obligation. Never mistake motion for action.

Mount the thief's head on a spike and place it outside the store front door. If you don't do the crime, you won't have to endure repercussions!

Indeed! That doesn't sound any worse than the crap that the Antifa crowd is perpetrating across the country. A bit of tit for tat might make a difference since so far they are getting away with it. Never mistake motion for action.

If more thieves were shot thieving would decrease. Unfortunately the law doesn't allow it. Dave

Like the old story about the guy giving his wife a handgun to carry before CHL's came along. "I'd rather see her tried by 12 than carried by 6. " Never mistake motion for action.

In Missouri we used to hang horse thieves. The horse was most people's only transportation. But let a punk steal a car today and he gets to go to the local "Crooks University". Then he learns better ways to hide his crime. I think Saeed's country has it right. Crooks should be dealt with in very well defined ways. Not coddled and given more rights than a law abiding citizen like in US prisons. I think for a capital crime there should be a maximum of one year to get the trial over. Then if convicted the judicial system should have one year to hear an appeal. If convicted the crook should be hung at high noon on the courthouse steps THAT DAY! The jury and court "Officers" and crook's family should be made to watch the results! No "civil" lawsuits would be allowed. Be Well, he said with a smile, Packy.

Granny works 6 days a week. Perhaps if it weren't for the loss of income due to shoplifting she could get by on 5 days per week?

I remember hearing on the Paul Harvey noon news show several years ago about some guy who could not understand why someone should be hung for stealing a horse. Well, as the judge said, "I know a lot of men that need hanging, but I've never seen a horse that needed stealing."In the past, they knew that stealing a man's mode of transportation was akin to a death sentence. Everyone knew that; you didn't need a lawyer to point it out or debate it. Never mistake motion for action.
