Wise choice and more practical to use at home for things like freezer power during a black out.

I have good experience with Honda (the same here as in USA, except output voltage and freq.). But I heard that current Yamaha generators are a little bit better and more fuel efficient.

You can't go wrong with either. Look for features you like (remote start or what ever).

"Camping" has a broad definition. Smiler

If I had an Airstream I would still call it camping. I have a 6 person tent tall enough to stand in and a van and I call it camping. In the South much of the year is too hot to "camp" without AC.

I'm buying this Yamaha inverter/generator:

This one purchase alone makes the membership fee worthwhile.

The primary reason I'm getting one is to run a small freezer, 5 to 7 cubic ft, to load with fish filets and bring back from Alaska. I think running it daily from about 6 to 9 pm will be enough. I can use it for trips to the east coast and gulf coast too.

Some campsites in State Parks, for example, have electricity hookup, so I won't need the Yamaha when "camped" there.

Plus I can run it for other purposes, such as lights and small electric heater.

Honda is definitely the go to portable generator and parallel 2000 watt units are the way to go. Given this, I took a leap of faith and bought two new 2000 watt Costco generators with Yamaha engines for $499 each. Half the cost and so far so good. They come with a parallel connector kit, run quietly, weigh less than 50# and start very easily. Time will tell but the price is right.

Just getting ready to add a Harbor Freight Predator 3500 watt Gen to my 20 foot R-Pod. QQuieter than a Honda at 1/3 the cost. Will now be totally self contained no matter the location.

Most RVs that have units internal to the vehicle have Onans. They are fairly quiet.
Not sure the make a stand alone unit.
