If you have an open mouth on a bear mount, do they use the real teeth?

My bear mounts have false teeth. I have the skulls with the real teeth in my reloading room along with skulls from other animals.

ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Though we used real teeth years ago, it's almost never done today. Real teeth become brittle and discolor with age (look at some old ivory and see the spiderwebs that form on them). That's what happens with real teeth and bumping them or jarring the mount can leave you with a snagglepuss very quickly. The initial plastic teeth were almost as bad as $100 dentures, but the processes have refined a great deal today and the better jaw sets look exceptionally good.

Besides, the skulls can be trophies on their own.

This guy wasn't big enough for a full body mount, so Bob Wilkins of Wildlife Artistry did this offset shoulder mount for me.
