I have a red hartebeest rug with felt backing. I had it hung over a rail in the last house. Looking to hang on the wall. What is the best method to hang it? As usual just my $.02 Paul K

If you're hanging it on sheetrock or wood, buy 3/4" round-headed upholstery tacks. If you can't find black tacks, just buy a can of flat black paint, stick the tacks in a hunk of styrofoam or cardboard and spray the heads. Do at least two or three coats. That's what I had to do since I could only locate antique brass tacks. I put them in about 8" apart, thus needed no other rings or anything to hang the rug. You will need another hand or two to get it done, however. ![]() Tony Mandile - Author "How To Hunt Coues Deer"

My zebra rug has black felt lining, I just used some dark brown thumb tacks, one about every 6 inches. ( couldn't find black at the store ). I have it on the floor now, but it hung fine for about 10 years. velocity is like a new car, always losing value. BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

I ALMOST used thumbtacks, but after sticking one through the felt and seeing what was left to go into the sheetrock, I decided to go with the longer upholstery tacks. I do have standard thumbtacks holding up a much lighter bobcat rug, though. Tony Mandile - Author "How To Hunt Coues Deer"
