| If you're set on a European mount, they're easy to do yourself.
Skin the head off, then place it in a water pot, large enough to hold the skull entirely underwater, but without the antlers being submerged. Add some DAWN dishwashing detergent to the water and SIMMER (not boil), the head until the meat begins to fall off the bones.
Clean off the meat and using a screwdriver, "muckle around" in the brain pan and bust up the brain tissue. Rinse and repeat until all the meat is off the skull and out of the brain pan.
There are numerous skull whitening products that you can buy to whiten the skull as well as videos to teach you how to do it.
It's a great way to make a nice looking trophy and spend a weekend doing something productive.... |
