So heading out to Tajikistan next week. Both me and my father will be hunting ibex. Assuming we both get one... I wanted to get some ideas for mounts. I figure the better of the two we will do a shoulder or pedestal mount, but not quite sure about the other. I was thinking about maybe a euro mount and having the entire skin as a small rug or something. Although the skin doesn't look all that great compared to some of the other ibex species. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. thanks!

An ibex (assuming it is a big billy) is a candidate for a lifesize mount.

But that is me..

I would say lifesize! Smiler

If you should ever consider a scull mount, here's what my taxidermist did. This was not supposed to be a scull mount, but unfortunatly the skin never showed up..

A friend of mine, who is a big sheep hunter, said he always pops the horns off and brings the whole skull home for that exact reason. In the event the cape doesn't make it, he can always do a skull mount.

If I was doing a lifesized ibex I'd have him on one of those little rock ledges that sticks out a bit from the wall looking to his left and down.

I saw a black bear mounted like this and it looked awesome.
