26 years old. Sad thing some of these cat rescues. This old guy didn't weigh 125lbs when I picked him up finally deceased. Now he fits on a 600 lbr. form. The last few months or more of his life were a living hell I thought. They never want to put anything down when it's quality of life is terrible and painful.

My grandfather lived in Bangladesh and India in the 1960s, he hunted tigers, but wasn't a man of considerable means and never had one mounted. We have some interested family video of my 14 year old mother and her brother and sister sitting on the back of one of the tigers my grandfather shot.

Those that were lucky enough to live in India at the time, and especially those that were lucky enough to have a hunting block (as hunting areas were called) had amazing stories of living in the wilderness.

They dealt with cobras, a gaur, and wild elephants, tigers and leopards as pretty much every day occurrence. An amazing time.

That world is gone forever. Thank you for bringing this old rascal back to life, he looks wonderful. He's straight out of a line from the Jungle Book, lithe and powerful with loud colors and eyes that penetrate your soul.

Wonderful job.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Very nice.

What's the going rate to obtain a legal tiger skin for mounting?

It would have to be in your own state safari lawyer, you can't sell them across state lines. I don't know about pricing since they are so rare, Dennis could probably help you witht that.

Very nice Dennis! I know a gentleman that has a few in his freezer, zoo cats. Like jerry said, only in state sales, kinda limits the market. Last I knew the skins he did sell were in the 5-8k range depending on male/female and size...

Something like that is what I am thinking for the pose on my lion.
