I'd go back just to listen to the birds and watch the sun rise and set.

I loved it!

The brand of form isn't what's important it's what your taxidermist can do with them that counts.

any of the major form suppliers have good forms to start with. Research mannikins, headquarters supply, Van Dykes, Mckenzie, Jetz, Jonas, Hauser
We use them all, I can't say that one is better than the other.

+1 this time...

I agree with Jerry.... but the best thing to do is start with any mannakin and change it. I don't mount much out of the box as we say. right from the supplier. Change the attitude and pose and make them one of a kind unique.

Each has some good ones and bad ones. Each has it's own problems and benefits. The more you have mounted on hundreds of forms you find what you like to work with. It's all a personal choice.

I would like to add one thing, on all of your life-size pieces look at pictures of live animals to choose how you want them mounted instead of the supply catalogues and other taxidermists websites. Show your taxidermist the pic and say that's how I want him looking. You're very limited looking at the books, where as nature has unlimited positions and expressions.

Ted,

You're talking to a taxidermist who will be doing all my work, along with Carlton, Jeff, Mike, etc.

Ted,

If you are looking for a taxidermist, you don't have to look much further than this forum. Browse through some of the older posts, a lot of the work done by the members here is heart stopping.
