For the last several years, yes YEARS, I've been trying to recover trophies from some not so professional taxidermists.

I found success with recovering one batch from some creeps in West Virginia from one of our own- Dennis Harris. THANK YOU!

Dennis really got the ball rolling on this and now he'll pay for it! I'm shipping off a few of these to him on Monday. I look forward to sharing photos of the finished work down the road. Many of these heads were paid for once already to be mounted.

These are trophies taken by me in 2001 and 2002. It's been a very long time....

The kudu is the first animal I shot in Africa. As you can see, there are a few nice sets of horns sitting there on my freezer, the capes are inside. Hope they are still good. Some things are missing, my Burchell's cape wasn't in the box.

This story isn't finished, there is still one more so-called taxidermist who has some once in a lifetime trophies that belong to me that I hope to see again...

Once again, with out a great deal of help from Dennis, I believe these would have been lost forever.

Glad you got those back. I hope you can get the other stuff back as well. It sickens me to hear stories like this. There is no excuse for a "taxidermist" holding on to someones property like this.

There seem to be a lot of these stories in the Taxidermy industry. Well done Dennis, good luck with the balance of your trophies Ann.

Glad you finally got them back Ann, 2001 wow that's just terrible. Dennis will do a good job for you and then you will be able to enjoy them for years to come.

Ann, I'm not a very emotional guy but Dennis will bring tears to a stoic's eyes with the work he does. I can only imagine your joy at both the retrieval and when you get these mounts back. Make sure you let us see them after Dennis works his magic.

Thanks guys, I have had four safaris and believe it or not, there is not one African head on my walls.

Only half the battle is won, still have one more person to collect from!

That's great Ann.

After the one year wait to get the elephant tusks in the avatar shipped from Zim. they were lost inside CA for about 2 weeks. Trying to track them down in my own state made it feel like 5 years, so I can't imagine the stress of trophies being gone 8 or 10 years.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'm still waiting to hear from the second taxidermist for confirmation the rest of my things are coming home.

I did send a box to Dennis yesterday with three animals to mount. Hope the capes are still good!

I'm Glad I could be of help and I thank Drew for his help, on his end when I asked, with some pressure on the other guy. Thanks DREW !

Imagine most your lost trophies back in two weeks. I'll work on that zebra / duiker thing for you also.

Kinda cool Yes???

I have some bears to deliver up there in a few months...... SO I can make the delivery charges for your mounts that you send me very painless.
