Thank you both for your incredibly kind words. My husband, Chris, is extremely humble with regards to his talent. I've heard him say to others, "It's my job..it's what I do". I am so proud and amazed of his talent and passion for his 'job', I like to share it with those I know will appreciate it. Kindest Regards, Mary Taxidermist/Rugmaker

Cool stuff... But if I brought a kitten mount into the house, I'd be the next one on the wall. I think that would be banned by the wife even in my kill room!

Hey Rob, Thank you! You brought up a good point that I probably should have clarified earlier. The bobcat bronze with mounted kitten was done 'only' for a National competition show piece. Chris elected to marry the the two forms of art into one spectacular piece, which did incredibly well at the show. It won: North American Champion Small Mammal, Best of Show-Challenge of the Art of Taxidermy, People's Choice, and Judge's Best of Show for sculpting and origional art. The bobcat kitten was legally obtained through a second party from a game farm where a medical illness took it's young life. We do not advocate the killing of juvenile animals! Nature takes care of that herself. When the kitten presented itself available to Chris, he was inspired to create this piece of art to showcase it. Chris is also a form sculptor for a major taxidermy supply company, so he was no stranger to working with clay, although this was his first bronze cast. As you can see by the alternate mount picture of the bust, these bobcat busts are sold primarily for bird mounts. I can completely understand your 'wife' comment as not everyone, man or woman sees this mount for the renaissance piece of art it is. I myself am delighted to have it displayed in my family room. It is now the focal point people are drawn to (not our intention) when in that room. Kindest regards, Mary Taxidermist/Rugmaker

This is what separates the "stuffers" from the true Artists. You have reason to be proud Mary. Regards, David K.
