Initial head mounting and rugging done by another taxidermist. The hyena was not stretched flat, the paws were not properly shaped and the border was a faux leather hot glued onto the skin.
Below are pictures of the transformation after re-stretching the skin flat, reshaping the paws and attaching a beautiful scalloped grade A leather border with an industrial sewing machine.
The flanks were touched up by airbrush to blend with the skins show side.

Mary,

I think I actually forgot to email you and thank you for the work. Thanks for the work.

I agree with LittleJoe, it is much better now than originally.

It is actually amazing to me looking at the before and after pics.

This is the second rug Mary has done for me; on original and this repair. If you want a rug done right, let Mary do it!

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
