This is my own ram that I mounted. I got it in 98 on the South Fork of the Shoshone near Cody. I shot him the last hour of the last day after hunting a total of 22 days; I had passed on a few bigger rams early and then I could not find a ram for many days after. My son who was 12 at the time was with me on the hunt, just the two of us. When I shot at him first I missed! He was about 350 yards out uphill but then after he took off he turned around and gave me another crack and the when I shot he disappeared into a deep brushy rock slide. We looked for him and/or blood in the dark with pen lights and when I found him I was so happy I cried. We were on foot and two other hunters on horses that we never saw before were all of a sudden there in the dark, they had heard the shots. So they packed it out for us to the trail head. Nothing like sheep hunting, esp. with your son!

Thanks Mary, I sculpted this bronze ram monument ram using my ram mount as the model, except the horns Smiler. It is now a sold out limited edition. Last year the University of Pa. Philly bought one and also the University of West Chester Pa. I also sold and placed one in front of the National Bighorn Sheep Center in Dubois Wyoming.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
