Chris hollowed out the back of a pedestal form up to the back of the head and affixed threaded rod (bent to the contours of the form) all the way to the top of the form and through a piece of 2x4 (which is the stem of the base and secures the piece to the pedestal). He covered the 2x4 with foam and sculpt it into the mud run. The wet mud was made from envirotex and dirt and brushed into the back of the form, on the mount and down over the base he made to give the appearance of just emerging from a mud hole.

This piece was at this past SCI convention.
