I have ammassed a nice collection of waterfowl mounts over the years and find that they need to be in anothers home. IS it legal to sell mounted ducks/geese? Thanks | ||

Only domestic migratory birds raised in captivity with permits may be sold. No wild waterfowl mounts may be sold, bartered or traded. Federal law prohibits this. You might check into donating them to a museum or school for a tax write off. Rob, no. It's Federal law and I wouldn't play with it. They sorted out long ago how they wanted to handle this. No migratory bird can be sold...in any way. This includes "giving" the duck away and charging $$ for the driftwood base or plaque. I would think if you donate them, there should be a tax write off that could possibly be attractive. If you have any questions, call the USF&W not the State DOW. This pertains to Federal law and it would superceed State laws. Tough spot to be in but good luck with a solution.
