Peter, congrats on a great cat. I'd heard that someone had taken one, but didn't know Charl and Frederik were speaking of you. I would absolutely do a lifesize mount. Best bet is to search on the www web and look at Taxidermy studios from all around the world. You won't see many Serval mounts but you'll get some ideas. Also, you can search taxidermy supply companies. Look at their Serval l/s forms. Again congrats on a super trophy. I hope to take one some day.
Good hunting,
David

I have a caracal being mounted laying down with its head up. It will be on a bunch of red sand and rocks with some dried tall grass mixed in like the terrain where I shot it. If I had another small animal to mount with it probably be more of a hunting scene.

Good Hunting,

Congrats Peter, beautiful cat! If you go online and find various pictures of servals in positions you like, a qualified taxidermist will be able to work with you and alter a form to your specifications. Do expect to pay more for this service.

Look at the cat work of many taxidermists and compare, as cats are a very hard animal to get correct (in the face) to look lifelike! I agree with David, you must lifesize this beautiful animal.

Kind regards,
Mary

Peter,

How nice of you to consider me for your rug work. I am glad you are life sizing that fine looking cat. I honestly would have talked you out of a rug if you requested one. That cat is too beautiful and too once in a lifetime for a rug! Again, congrats on a fine specimen. Cannot wait to see the finished mount.

Kindest regards,
Mary
