Hi,

I just got back from my 1st African safari and am now looking to get some taxidermy work done .

I was wondering if anyone knows a good taxidermist in the Minneapolis area with African animal experience.

Thanks,
Brett

Theres a guy in that area, Marv something, he owns Taxidermy Unlimited. I met him at the World Taxidermy Champoinships. They do a pile of African Work. If that doesn't work out. Im interested.

Brett,

I had a guy up in Coon Rapids do some work for me, and he's been doing African stuff for several years. You can see photos of the mounts on my animals from Zim in the Trophy Rooms forum under the topic "Humble beginnings". His name is Ed Durushia, and does have a small website (do a google search for Ed's Taxidermy).

I'm having him do the animals I got this year as well.

He'll have you direct your shipment of capes/horns directly to New Method Fur Dressing in SFO, and when they are done they forward to him.

Best,
Jeff

best around here is toms taxidermy in clarks grove (by albertlea) he's done several safaris for me and others around here. whatever you don't don't use taxidermy unlimited. marv's had in in with the sci chapter, but the work just sucks. tom does most of the stuff now for the chapter, as well as fnaws guys. He's been to africa a couple times himself, so he knows what stuff looks like

Jim Benson at Sportsman's Taxidermy Studio in East Grand Forks does a lot of African work. Their website is www.sportsmanstaxidermystudio.com

For all of my North American animals, I've always used Craig's Taxidermy in Shakopee. He does great work at a good price.

Northman:

I don't know where in MN you are or if you have done anything, but there is a place in Baudette that does a lot of African stuff. They have done two safaris worth of stuff for me, as well stuff from other areas outside of NA. Lake of the Woods Taxidermy is the name, I believe.

Taxidermy Unlimited as has been mentioned already is excellent. They are located in Burnsville, MN 952-890-8688. Also Jim's Lake Land Taxidermy in Excelsior at 952-472-7677. Both hunt Africa and I have seen African mounts of each that are stunning.
