Smiler Well, got the skin back thanks to Dennis and Drew.

That's an old scar on the nose of this guy. He clearly had some challenges in life, was blind in one eye too.

Dennis Harris will get to do him, when I save up some coin.

Drew, I shot him in 2005!

I just got two rugs from Mary, boy are they beautiful. My Hartmann's zebra and a red hartebeest. I'll get some pics of them shortly. Gorgeous and most high quality work to boot! Both of them were shot in 2001.

Feels a bit like hitting the lottery this weekend. Smiler

Thanks Ann
I'm very happy for you.
ALSO Thanks to Dogcatcher, Drew.
It is nice when we both work together and are on the same page.

I'm so glad these last few weeks have seen so much come together for you and your skins from years past.

And Frank, Thanks
I will make her as happy with her leopard as you are of yours.

Crap Ann it has been 8 or 9 years since you shot that one eyed monster. I cant believe you got it back after all this time. I remember when you shot it. Great job Dennis and Drew if you guys were the source of this showing up. I had written this one off long ago. I guess it pays to never give up.

So glad you got your leopard back, Ann.

Thanks for the kind words about your rugs. Happy you are so pleased with them. I hope I was able to help begin to restore your faith in taxidermists after you had been taken advantage of with so many of your trophies.

I took a few pics of your rugs before they shipped off. Thought I would get home from my trip to post them before you received them.

Kindest regards,
Mary

ok 5 years, I just looked at the date you posted. I hope the hide still has some stretch in it and Dennis can work some magic on it. Nice job on the rugs Mary, Is that felt or a leather backing?

I really like the look the rolled leather adds to the rugs. Can you explain a little more about the carpet backing? Now you have my curiosity up.

Ann, I'm so glad you finally got your skins back especially the Leopard.

I'm sure Dennis has already advised you, but just in case, you need to get the Leopard to him immediately so he can re-hydrate it and see the condition. I wouldn't wait any longer. It needs to be mounted as soon as possible.

Very nice work on the rugs Mary. Smiler

Jerry,

I am shipping it to Dennis today vacuum sealed. He'll have to store if for awhile.

Mary, thanks for the pics of the rugs! I have to say to anyone reading that the carpet backing is AWESOME and is a must. I am betting it extends the life of these rugs too. The leather border as well, worth the cost and Mary, thanks for being patient with me!

I have a full skin gemsbok and nyala that should be rugged someday.

I should add that some skins are traditionally done as rugs like zebra. I am really glad I had a rug done of the red hartebeest. It is gorgeous, really rich in color. That was a cow too.

Ann you need to talk to Dennis and work out some kind of a deal. This thing needs worked asap. I am already concerned about the condition of the hide after this much time. It is especially important in light of the fact that considering the prblem you had with the taxidermist god only knows what conditions it was stored in.

If its aleady been tanned for 5 years, a few more months isn't going to matter. The hide is either shot, or it isn't. It will either turn to mush when rehydrated, or it won't. Assuming it doesn't fall apart, freezing it afterwards will keep it forever.

OK guys, my leopard is en route to Dennis as of now. I insured it for $3000. BOL Dennis!

It is coming to you vaccuum sealed and if you have a Food Saver you might have enough bag to reseal it once you inspect it. I have positive thoughts the hide will still be good.

He wasn't a huge leopard, what form choices are there? How did you like the itty-bitty bullet holes?

Good luck with the Leopard Ann. Mary did a beautiful job on your rugs. Hope you get your Kudu and all your mounts work out. Dennis can find endless ways to position your Leopard mount. Just give him some ideas and he'll do the rest tu2
