cracked Turkey head

I just picked up a full body turkey that my dad shot back in the 80's.

The head is a real skin mount, and the skin is cracking.

Does anyone have a suggestion on repairing such damage?

The cracks could be filled in and blended with an epoxy clay compound, textured, and painted. Or the head could be replaced with a new one (real or artificial). Hard to tell from the photo but it looks like the head has a lot of paint on it and on the feathers.

The head was painted, It looks pretty good overall in my opinion with the exception of the cracking. Especially given that the bird is 20+ years old! The only other photo I have of is is here:



The tail feathers could use a bit of preening too.

I should probabaly get it to a taxidermist to look at. But thought I would see if there was a quick fix available that everyone but me knew of!
