Turkey Taxidermist?

I took my first Tom this past week. This animal holds more meaning to me than any other that I have taken in my 41 years. I have created a short list of quality Southeastern taxidermists but would like any input or recommendations you may have. Cost is less relevant than usual in this circumstance.

The bird is currently frozen and can be shipped anywhere.

Thanks for input and pictures.

Bruz, I know a number of well qualified Turkey specialists, one of the best works here in Madison (7 miles north of Nashville, TN). Chris Butt (his father Foster owns Wildlife Taxidermy). Chris does outstanding work. He will mount to your spec's; uses your natural head (freeze dried and painted). Here's my Rio he mounted for me. Email or call me if you want their contact number.
Congrats,
David

Best taxidermist in Georgia--and as good as any, regardless of location--is Darrel McMicken in Cartersville. Before you make any final decision, please contact him--his number is 770-382-6232.

McMicken Taxidermy is just a short distance off I-75, on GA Hwy 20--easy to find.

You can't do any better than Darrel.

The BEST in the World is Cally Morris(really he's won the World Taxidermy Championships several times), Hazel Creek Taxidermy. When I was doing birds, I sent him my turkeys to wholesale for me. Look at his website, youll be impressed.

Hazel Creek Taxidermy mounted my turkey in a roost position. It is fantastic. I'll get a picture up if I can find one.

Hugh and Jim are spot on. Cally and Annetta's Hazel Creek is the best in the taxidermy industry for turkey mounts, hands down! http://www.hazelcreekinc.com/

Another vote for Cally at Hazel Creek. He has done three full strut mounts for me.

My Ocellated Turkey was done by Turkey World Champion Shane Smith based out of Northern Alabama. I discussed the pose with him ahead of time. Not the cheapest of the top taxidermists but you get what you pay for.

Feel free to PM me if you need any info....or if you want to go hunt an Ocellated....I have a great lodge in Yucatan (serious inquiries only please).

Shane Smith is tops. He's just up the road from me and a friend.

I was in a camp last week where several Hazel Creek mounts were displayed. It was quality work for sure.

Either would do you a great job.

Hazel Creek without question. Shipped two of my buddies from Utah there and back and they are perfect in every way. Highly recommend.
