i love it but where would i get the hardware. obviously the metal bases of each tooth have to be custom fitted to the proper shape.

We use very thin brass, have also used hammered copper, yep, you have to custom form and fit each one and glue it to the base of tooth. Lots of work. Then fill each tooth in order to seat it to the base with screws, multiple ones so the teeth don't spin or rotate.
I can do this for you, contact me thru a PM.

It is probably too late for you jdollar, but I would highly recommend bringing back the entire skull. Mine sits next to a leather couch in my TR next to the double French doors that lead into it. Looks cool. Pic of the hippo is above it.

thought about that when i shot it but i literally have no room anywhere in my trophy room for anything else( and knew this 2 years ago when i shot it!!). i am still trying to figure out where i am going to put the skull of the 15 foot croc i also shot plus the bushbuck and mountain reedbuck shoulder mounts that are coming in the same shipment with the tusks. a logistical challenge. i also really like the SBT's idea of the standing plaque and picture combo. oh well, it is a nice problem to have to solve!

peened copper would be really cool as a base for each tooth.

I like both Artistry's and SBT's.
Problem is I'm not mad enough at hippos to warrant paying a trophy fee for one. Big Grin

With no skull, this is no real help to you. However, this is one of the coolest ways to do a hippo that I've seen. Small pic, but it's an end table.

i am not mad at any animal i shoot. i just love to hunt different things in different ways. my hippo was shot from a boat. imagine the challenge of making a brain shot at an animal from a boat lodged in the papyrus but slowing bobbing in the swell. glad i got the whole thing on video( missed the brain by a 1/2 inch but put in a lethal shot on follow up as the hippo lunged forward). if i only shot things i was mad at- well, i wouldn't do much hunting

Hello Everyone,
I know this is a older post but I thought I would post this picture I found while looking for some ideas, I have a set to mount for a client also.

This is the set I have here to mount:

I like this mount:

I really like the little details that were added to this base:

this is what i ended up with. had the plaque made by a local cabinet maker from 1 inch mahagony( sp??) and i stained it with a dark walnut stain. total cost was $100 and i am satisfied with the result.
