Did you buy them off an auction site such as Ebay? They could be held up in Customs: theirs or ours. Buying from Africa is a huge risk. The seller may be good as gold, but there's a lot of vermin to cross before your purchase gets to your door. If the guy no longer answers your emails, he's either done with it or experiencing South African Internet service. However, I haven't had any problems lately with RSA, just Zimbabwe. LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

You should really press the seller to follow up & find out what happened. It should never take this long to get the horns. Did the seller have good feedback on Ebay?

Ahmed

There was a huge scam going on a few months back with just this type of transaction. A guy was copying pictures of mounts, antlers and horns from websites, advertising them as his own and selling them to unwitting customers. When they ralized he never had the item to begin with and what he was doing, he was long gone. He was put out of business when 1 guy realized that a customer's mount he had in his shop was being sold on eBay unbeknownst to either the customer or the taxidermist. I stopped gambling with eBay purchases long ago.

I remember that Ebay username. He had some stuff I was interested in but I never bought anything from him because there would be a customs issue.

All animals to the best of my knowledge have to go through customs. You will have to clear them through customs yourself or have a customs broker do it for you and they charge a lot. On average charge about $500 + to clear hunting trophys wether its one animal or a dozen. I may be wrong.
I did not feel comfortable buying anything from him because of the customs issue. Do you really want to try to sneak something through customs this day and age?

I wanted a caracal.

Does anybody here have a caracal for sale thats in the USA?

markhor,
If you purchased via PayPal, they have insurance to cover your loss. I believe it goes up to $1,000. If you need more you pay for it. I would contact them and execute a claim. Obviously, they are not coming. It is possible to use a tracking number on anything. He could have done as agreed, or he may have sent nothing more than a letter, using a tracking number with a fictitious address. Once the Postal Service couldn't locate the address, the empty envelope was discarded. Tracking numbers have a "shelf life" and after it expires, it is removed from the system. Hope it works out.

Wildlife Artist: Don't have a Caracal but I do have a very nice lifesize Nyala with horns and dark color phase Cape Bushbuck cape with horns. Both are raw. PM me if interested. LDK
