I took a nice baboon last year with my bow and now it's time to decide on a full body pose. Do any of you have any suggestions? Pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Silent T,

Here are a few that Chris has done. Primates, like big cats, need that extra attention to detail in the face area to bring them back to life.

Mine isn't finished yet but no one, and I mean no one has one like mine. He's standing; screaming at the moon. Arm raised holding a bow; quiver of arrows on his back. Other hand is holding a flint knife w/bone handle. Breast Plate is made of Porcupine quills; gorget is made from shell. Shell necklace, bone ear pins and assorted paraphernalia adorn this savage warrior. Sounds corny but will be scary as hell. I made all the weapons, down to flint knapping the knife and arrow points. Due to hunting commitments, it will take some time after I receive the mount before everything is in place, but I post a pic when it's finished.
Good hunting,

Ann: it is said that after you smash a ton of flint into chips and dust, you'll start to get the hang of it. Truth is, it was the most difficult "hobby" I've ever attempted. You suffer cuts (I've seen severe), eye damage (I learned to wear safety glasses real fast), Silicosis (deadly lung disease, so I use a fan to exhaust dust away from me and wear a respirator) and some intense joint problems if you overdo it. The end result was worth it to me. I learned more about native American tool production than I'd ever known from reading and listening to old BS tales. You should attend a "Knap-in" sometime and watch. We have two each year in Manchester, TN at Old Stone Fort (ancient Indian site along the Duck River). It will truly amazed the Archer in you. I've been collecting the real artifacts since I was six years old and still pursue them.
Good hunting,
David

I know I would enjoy learning the skill, I just do not have the time right now. What kind of flint are you using there? It has nice 'figure'.
