Kent, I have no problem with you,and am not looking for a fight. I never said anything about your experiences with 12 guage slugs either, though you seem to be hopping mad about that for some reason. ------------------

Brian I have convinced myself that the majority of the posters and I were in reality in agreement with the 30-30 and 30-06 discussion. There was one exception that I can think of which was stated to be second hand knowledge anyway so I discarded that as BS and forgot about it. I believe that the statemen that a 30-30 and a 30-06 equal each other at 100 yards and 450-500 yards is agreed upon. No one actually stated anything to contrary. The same thing could be restated as a 30-30 and 30-06 are equal to each other at the muzzle and 300 yards is agreed upon. There were several posters that said 12 gauge slugs punched holes thogh average to big bodied whitetails out to 70 yards. I think that is bunk and still do and always will. I haven't EVER seen that kinda performance on over 400 or so deer shot with slugs. You must agree that I have seen a pretty big sampling spread out over many years. The 12 and 20 gauge for that matter slug performance has stayed pretty much a constant. Kent
