Updated that I just received from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. This is catastophic news, we MUST STOP THIS!
Folks,
I am sending you the official plan from the federal government to place wolves in the Southern Rockies. Every sportsman in America needs to see this plan. These plans will spread wolves into 97.5% of all elk in America.

Here is what they are doing: Baca National Wildlife refuge in Southern Colorado will have wolves transplanted in 2012 if portions of this plan are implemented. Baca is much, much smaller than Yellowstone. It is only 70 Miles from Northern New Mexico. It is only 250 Miles from Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Wolves can travel that far in less than a week.

Yellowstone National Park was used to introduce wolves to the Northern Rockies. Without your help, history will repeat itself this year in the Southern Rockies.

See the official plan for yourself at the link below (look on page 8, bottom of the first column where they mention the introduction of wolves in Colorado's Baca National Wildlife Refuge).

http://www.fws.gov/alamosa/pl...ccp_update2_web2.pdf
Here is how you can help stop these plans:
(1) Spread the word: Send this email to 10 friends and ask them to forward this email to more friends.
(2) Join the Fight: If you haven't already, sign the online petition to stop these wolf expansion plans at http://biggameforever.org/
(3) Take Action: It only takes 30 seconds to send a message to your representatives in Congress to stop these plans. Simply go to http://biggameforever.org/takeaction and click the “Take Action” button to send a message in support of two bills in Congress, S. 249 and H.R. 509, the Big Game and Livestock Protection Act. Without S. 249 and H.R. 509, it will be very difficult to slow down these plans to expand wolves throughout 97.5% of all elk in America.

Without a very substantial outcry from sportsmen and livestock owners, wolves will very likely be placed in Colorado this year. While attempts have been made to dismiss the use of wolves as "not the preferred alternative," now that they are an official part of the plan, we are one very small step away from having wolves introduced into Baca National Widlife Refuge. We can't leave this to chance.

Over 10,000 messages have already been sent to Congress to stop the plans to put wolves in the Baca, but we need many, many more. Especially from the 600,0000 hunters in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.

We need all need to join the fight to stop this from happening. Remember, Idaho's elk harvest has been cut in half by wolves. Wolves have been a huge burden for livestock producers. Without substantial changes to the underlying statutes, it is a bad idea to spread these failed policies to the Southern Rockies.

Here are some news articles about these plans for wolves in Colorado.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

That wasn't put out by RMEF! It was an email from Ryan Benson who heads BGF and it's a bunch of BS. There are three different multifaceted plans being discussed and the wolf is only mentioned in one sentence in Plan C with hunting as the first choice to control the elk herd. There is an open comment period until 2/25, but you need to read the entire 13 page document to see that this email is a crock because plans won't even be finalized until sometime in 2014 and Benson is saying the Feds are putting wolves in the Baca this year. That organization and SFW are now as bad or worse than PETA and they claim they are on our side, LOL!!!

has to say.
months before the delisting ryder was added to the budget bill Ryan told me it was going to happen.
I spoke of it here and was called on it
by the naysayers.
wouldn't surprize me that the Colorado greenies
are trying some STUPID shit like this

To put wolves into a new area the USF&WS would need to develope and approve an Environmental Impact Statemewnt. I've never seen one only 13 pages long so I'm pretty sure this isn't one.

ravenr---You might not, but I more than call BS on anything that comes from him now! The same can be said about D K Peay, Founder of SFW and close allie. Are you aware they were instrumental in trying to have the rider stricken that ended up being passed by Congress, with wolves being delisted in Montana and Idaho as a result? They even went so far as to issue a press release/email saying that the SCI and NRA were in their camp on the wolf issue. NRA and SCI issued statements in rebuttal that their organizations were not in line with those of BGF/SFW and asked for a retraction. The rebuttal offered by BGF/SFW was that the piece was not intended for release on the internet, but was meant to stay internally within their group, LOL! Thus, they did not deny their nefarious plan of trying to make millions of members in those two groups believe that SFW/BGF were in with the good guys! That, Sir, lost them any credibility they had with most people that know what happened in DC!!! They are both thought of as scumbags by the majority of members on the various hunting/shooting websites I visit!

of course they were trying to shut down the simpson/tester bill.
do you realize they had a bill in the works that would of delisted in ALL 50 states? HB-506
simpson/tester backdoored their efforts and shut down what would of relieved the wolf mess for EVERY state!
And there were talks with SCI and NRA to get their support, along with Congressional Sportsmen groups.
Press release was "let out" prematurely and these groups pulled back.
I live in the infected area and follow this issue closely.
That said, I am not a member of either of these groups, but feel they were the ones who got the ball rolling when it comes to the wolf "train wreck."
I do know that HB-506 showed up on the politico
web sites LONG before the simpson/tester bill.
IMO this bill (S/T) is a "half measure" of what could of been achieved had the "in fighting" not occured.

That's horse manure! HB-506 wasn't getting anywhere near enough support to even get it out of Committee and onto the Floor and it would never have passed through both Houses of Congress. Thus the Simpson/Tester Bill was introduced to at least get the animals under control in the states where they are causing so much damage and where there was a decent chance that the Bill would be passed, which it was! BGF/SFW tried to throw those states under the bus and prolong the fight, rather than support what was passed. Then they tried to tell all the folks that weren't keeping up on things that they were the ones instrumental in getting the Simpson/Tester Bill passed, which resulted in delisting under the ESA and recent wolf seasons that started in Montana and Idaho. Both groups suck!!! If you live in Wyoming where I hunt every year, I'm sure you're aware of their (state of Wyoming) continued fight to have wolves listed as both game and predators depending on where they are, including that one area where they will be both depending on time of the year. I applaud Wyoming for their fight, which has now been won and hopefully I'll be able to blast any wolf I see in the BigHorns where I hunt every year. They are there and three were killed on the ranch I hunt near by the Feds, but five in the pack escaped. Fighting the Feds cost Wyoming in that it allowed a lot more wolves to populate the state than if they had caved in to the Feds several years ago, but my hope is that now we can start to legally get them under control like the other two states.

if we don't get "not subject to judicial review"
we won't have a wolf season.
Feds keep them beat back pretty good around here.
What hurt us was the loss of the "northern elk
herd" in ynp, that herd supplied our migratory elk populations and is no longer a viable
migratory consideration.
But if Wyoming doesn't get congressional protection, the eco-terrorists will sue, guarenteed!

Nothing in life is "guaranteed" but DEATH!!! If they sue or try for an injunction, it won't go before Judge Malloy this time and IMHO will be either turned down or struck down quickly. Only time will tell! Meanwhile SSS!
