I was shocked this morning to see Gary Melton's obituary in the Casper Star Tribune this morning. Gary was an acquaintance, I would see him at fund raisers, the gun shop, Gun Shows and on the internet. I knew him to be friendly, funny, and an avid hunter. Now, I find myself sympathizing for his friends and family.
I didn't know that he had been suffering from Cancer the past 4 years. He didn't let on. Your suffering is over now sir. You've earned your rest. Godspeed.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

I didn't know the man, but as a man, a hunter and an AR brother of sorts, I offer my sincere condolences to his family.

I had never met Gary, but had exchanged comments on a number of threads on hunting Forums. He was a class guy.
Rest in peace Gary.
We'll catch up with you later.
