DC RoxbyColorado Merriams Gobbler
Killed my first Merriam's gobbler today. I've never heard so much gobbling in the evening. A few yelps and I had two gobblers double and triple gobbling and coming in fast. Barely had time to get my face mask on before I saw the first gobbler coming thru the junipers. The first two days of the season were windy, cold and snowy but today was beautiful!

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

adamhunterCongrats DC! With such good populations of eastern turkey here in GA, I have never much considered making a trip out of state to hunt another species of turkey. But a merriam is one I really want! Congrats again!!
