I have a six year old daughter, so this post hits me hard. I can't imagine your grief, and can only offer condolences and heart-felt sympathy for your pain. Not that it helps, but we're hurting with you, and wishing you and your family the best during this terrible time.

Chris,

Even though I don'tknow you or your family, I find my eyes are wet just looking at those pictures and thinking of your terrible loss.

Nothing anyone can say or do can lessen the pain; and I only hope you can find the strength for your wife, and especially your daughter Sarah.

Very sorry to for your loss of such a bright and active son.

Obviously the world would have been a better place with him in it. Gods reasons cannot always be understood.

May God soon grant you and your family understanding and all possible comfort with this loss.

I managed to get all the way through the replies so far, but it did take a couple of attempts.

All I can say at this point is "Thank You".

The outpouring from our community, and especially from the kids school has been unbelievable.

We have friends we aren't even aware of.

My daughter has written a poem for Jack, and it's being printed on the program for his service. It is just beautiful. I don't have the strength to type it yet to share, but she has a talent that surely didn't come from me.

Some moments are better than others for us, we never know when the grief will take us. My wife had to leave the grocery store yesterday in tears...

I know it will get better, for now we're just trying to make it through the day. We will start arranging our counseling next week, and just go where ever that leads us.

If I didn't have my wife and daughter to be here for, I don't think I could carry on from the pain of it all.

I want to say "God Bless You" to each and every one of you.

Tell your family that you love them, even if you know that they know. That is something that we had always done ourselves. Go hug your children if you can, you can never have enough hugs.

Thank you.

No words can express the feelings you are going through now. I lost my daughter 7 years ago,she was killed by a drunk driver while we were out riding bikes together it happened 20' in front of me.
Please don't let anyone tell you how you should act! Don't let anyone tell you what to do next! Do what ever feels right to you now and forever. The pain you feel today will lessen, but I am affraid the sadness will be with you forever it just becomes part of who you are.
As the Father so much more will be expected of you and most of the sympathy will be directed to your wife. Please don't feel the need to be strong, let yourself grieve. If ever you feel like talking to someone who has been through what you are feeling please feel free to call on me or my wife Robin sometimes it can be easier to talk to a stranger. Ill PM you my phone #. www.celebratelauren.com

Prayers sent.
Having lost a son myself, I am sitting here now with tears streaming down my face, for your loss and for mine, and for everyone else who has ever felt the pain.

But he will live on, in you, and in the memories.
That, and the belief we WILL all be together again, is what keeps me going.
My deepest, heartfelt condolences, brother.

Thank you for your post.

First, so we can grieve with you and wish you God's peace.

Second, so we can all pause and reflect on how great a blessing our children are, regardless of how long we have them.

We are here for you, I think you know that.

Chris,

Sincere condolences to you and your family.

I saw Montini's column in today's Republic. I know you won't post this part, so I will in case someone wishes to help.

Not long ago, Jack's mom lost her job as a chemical engineer. The Hazeletts are having to sell their house in order to make ends meet. Friends and family organized a carwash today between 8 a.m. and noon to help raise money for funeral and hospital expenses. It will be held at the Sonic Drive-in at 4007 E. Greenway Road in Phoenix.

They've also established an account at the Compass Bank at 12434 N. Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix. It is under Account No. 2518567880. The bank routing number is 122105744.

I do not know You or Your family.
However, I can imagine and recognise what You are going through, as I have lost members of family that should have lived much longer than me.
This is probably the worst any man or woman can be exposed to.
There are four small words, often used and sometimes even misused, but they suit very well if they come from the heart.

I am so sorry.

Magnus.

Chris, I am rarely on this forum and do not know you or your family but it deeply saddens me to hear this news. He is a beautiful child and I'm sure heaven is a better place now that he's there. For your time here on earth he will always be safe in your heart. Believe me when I say that you will see him again. My experience with an asthma attack that went really bad was that death is like stepping out of a cold, wet boot and that's when you see all your old friends that passed before you. We all live forever and I think this is something that you only realize after you've visited eternity for a short while. Your little boy is doing fine right now and he loves you dearly. I wish you and your family the very best. God bless you.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.
