| Obivously you haven't done it or you wouldn't ask such a silly question. Bait hunting is not a slam dunk and if done right takes a lot of skill and hard work. I've hunted bear 30 yrs by every legal method. and I can tell you Try it on your own a few times , you may change your mind. Try dog hunting ! It will streach your hunting capabilities and endurance to the limit. |

| I must havebeen hunting in the wrong places! I have hunted bear over baits in Ontario and Sask. I have never had an easy hunt for baited bear. In the videos of hunts they cut out the hours of waiting and don't show anything but the action. Usually we were in the stand by 4 P.M. and set there until 10 P.M. trying not to make a sound or move. I have taken 2 Bear over bait and it was some of the hardest hunting I can imagine. I shot a Grizzly in an oat field in Russia that was much easier. Just my opinion. |

| Wether you agree or disagree with whatever method,we MUST stick together or we will all surely lose. Agreeing with an ANTI on anything is an invite to catastrophy. If you wnat to see what the anti's can do, just look at how many states have had radical changes to hunting and trapping regulations in the last 10 years. Support your fellow sportsman even if you don't like their methods. |

| quote: YOU guys that are whining about the Baiting being hard are loosing track on what the Question was... REMEBER, Poaching is Hard work too, doesn't make it right.
Moosie, I read that as equating hunting bears over bait with poaching. Maybe I'm reading too much between the lines. You tell me. If you read my post my point is that hunting as a tool for managing game populations is dependent on methods that will allow hunters to kill enough animals to reach the target population. The methods employed have to be inline with the geography hunted. Big difference between Idaho and Northern Michigan and what works in one does not necessarily work in the other.
