Painful is all I can Say. I just received my latest copy of petersens Hunting. 106 pages out of 137 have advertising on them. And that is not including any advertisements in an actual article. I wish there was a magazine out there that just had stories. I don't mind them saying what gun or bullet or etc... that they are using. But they don't have to go into every single little detail about it. If I want to find out more about a certain item I would look it up myself. Why can't they just have a specific section like they used to about 15 years ago.Hanloading, optics, Rifles. I know they need a certain amount of advertising which is fine but when over 3/4 of it is advertising that gets a little much. I would gladly pay double or even triple to get a good story, rather than paid endorsements throughout a story. Happy Hunting

My favorites are ....Fur-Fish-Game, Handloader, and Rifleshooter. Try one of them...they are not as commercial as PH. regards swede ------------------

Gonzolas, Have you tried Safari, Safari Club's glossy hunting magazine? It has ads and columnists too, but it isn't trying to be a for-profit magazine. You have to be an SCI member to get it, so that adds cost. If you want help getting hooked up, drop me an email...jim ------------------

I like Bugle, Big Game Adventures, and Big Buck Magazine. I also enjoy the GSC/Ovis publication and FNAWS's Wild Sheep. I really can't take How To articles anymore. Give me stories of actual hunts, or me "Me and Joe" type stories any day. Canuck
