on the way back from n. mex i stopped to help a partner of mine find his 1st booner speedgoat. i roughed one side and came up with 83 and change. check out the ivory tips, they were 1.5 inches and the double prongs!!!! i walked up to the buck and in the middle of the sage and pricly pear this little guy was feasting on the local ant hill. not what i expected to see in this kinda habitat enjoy and safe travels.

Congrats on a fine buck! What kind of reptile is that? Looks like a Newt or Salamander head, but surely not. I've never seen that one before. Thanks for posting the little guy. I think that's a tiger salmander, perhaps the barred subspecies. Nice buck, Joe! Tony Mandile - Author "How To Hunt Coues Deer"
