on the way back from n. mex
i stopped to help a partner of mine find
his 1st booner speedgoat.
i roughed one side and came up with
83 and change.
check out the ivory tips, they were 1.5 inches
and the double prongs!!!!
i walked up to the buck and in the middle of the sage and pricly pear this little guy
was feasting on the local ant hill.
not what i expected to see in this kinda habitat
enjoy and safe travels.

Congrats on a fine buck! What kind of reptile is that? Looks like a Newt or Salamander head, but surely not. I've never seen that one before. Thanks for posting the little guy. David

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

thats what i called it also "tiger salamander"
there was a small pond maybe 500 yds away and about 125' below elevation wise.
caught them when i was younger in ponds and local streams.
but never thought i'd find one in the prairie
hunting antelope.
