Hi guys,
On September 10th, I will be in AZ State for a pronghorn hunt with my dear friend "Billinthewild". I was just wondering if there are any chances of booking a Black Bear hunt (rifle or handgun), preferable stalking, climbing or with dogs, than blind hunting, in that state close to the above mentioned date. Any info, recommendations, outfitters? will be very appreciated. Thanks a lot

Guillermo, I will send you some info on one of my best AZ Outfitters. He has some very good dogs but you may spot and stalk if you wish.
Cheers,
David

It depends on how long you'll be here. The general bear season in MOST units doesn't start until Sept. 30 and runs until Dec. 31. There are a few other seasons that begin in Aug. but they all close earlier than Sept. 10. Two are opened until Sept. 8. The only seasons open on your date are archery ones in three units.

Both the Fort Apache and San Carlos reservations have two "fall" bear hunts, but in either case, the first ones end well before you get here and the later ones open well after you leave.

So that pretty much leaves doves and/or predators, i.e. coyotes, bobcats, etc.

So what unit did you draw for prairie goats??

David....Guillermo is coming over to hunt pronghorn with me. You responded to my post about a Nilgai hunt....he is interested as well in black bear but that poses a problem. The best is on the White Mountain Apache Res right next door to me. Problem is when he will be here is their trophy bull elk hunt and they will not allow bear hunts same time. I also thought about an Arizona tag as we have many bears right in or area but he is too late for that one.

Tony. Maybe as You read below what "Billinthewild" says, unfortunately the Antelope hunt already booked conditione our free time for another hunt and my arrival and departure dates doesn't match with B.Bear seasons, maybe I will book for a Nilgay if I can afford hunt prices & fly tickets. The Antelope hunt will be on New Mexico with a Gunsmith outifitter but I dont know the unit (this is all new for me) Just my second hunt in USA. Big Hug and thanks for the info. Guillermo
