Hell of a buck for sure. With a rack like that I would have expected it to have come from some high fence place. To see one like that in the wild is incredible. I have a friend who has a farm near Johnson City. He killed a giant buck there that may make B& C. | |||

http://newschannel9.com/sports...-world-record-status Link has photos. Tennessee buck officially measured for world record status by Richard SimmsMonday, January 9th 2017 CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — According to the folks with the tape measure, it is official. Tennessee is now home to the world record, "hunter-taken" non-typical whitetail deer. The official panel with Boone & Crockett will not certify it until 2019, but official scorers with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency conducted a final measuring session Monday and say the famed "Tucker Buck" will officially become a world record. Tennessee Wildlife Commissioner Bill Swan from Dunlap was present for the official measurement on Monday. "The antlers scored 312 and 3/8 inches net," said Swan. "That's more than four inches larger than the existing [hunter taken] world record for a non-typical whitetail (307 and 5/8 inches, taken in Iowa)." The Boone & Crockett Club is the official record-keeping organization for big game. They actually list the world record non-typical whitetail at 333 and 7/8 inches. However Justin Spring, Director of Big Game Records for Boone & Crockett said that buck was "picked up," meaning it was likely a road kill deer and was not taken by a hunter in a fair chase situation. Spring said a new "hunter taken" world record must be verified by either a Boone & Crockett Awards Program Judges Panel or a Special Judges Panel. Awards Program Judges Panels are assembled once every three years, with the next scheduled meeting in April 2019. That is the soonest the Tucker Buck can be submitted and measured by that panel. Until then, the Tucker Buck will officially remain as a "pending world record." "But four official Boone & Crockett measurers were on hand today," said Swan, who felt there is little chance that the buck won't be certified. Stephen Tucker, 26, of Gallatin took the 46-point non-typical buck with a muzzleloader on November 7, 2016 in Sumner County. However antlers must dry a minimum of 60 days before they can be officially scored. The final score determined on Monday was actually larger than the initial "green score" from November. "When you green score you sometimes don't actually measure with the same precision you do when you're doing a final score," said Swan. Swan was also excited about a typical buck taken by Harold Thompson. Swan said that 11-point buck measured 184 net. That's well-below the Boone & Crockett World record typical whitetail (213 and 5/8), but Swan said it will qualify as a new Safari Club World Record for southeastern whitetail taken with a muzzleloader. Swan said Thompson also took his huge buck in Sumner County, just a few miles from where the Tucker Buck was taken. It seems that Tennessee might be on its way to become a "big buck destination" state. "Exactly, we are," said Swan. "Obviously Sumner County is a hotspot but there have been some great bucks taken in other areas of Middle and West Tennessee. It's been one heck of a year for Tennessee deer hunters."
