Flew into Wausau today and drove a bit north. Holy cow - I have never seen this much snow. I wonder how the deer will fare - I think it has been colder than normal as well, which is a double whammy for deer.

My oldest daughter moved from California to Minnesota last summer. The drifts in her yard are higher than she is tall.

Finally had a decent snow here this am.
4", and now at 10pm Mtn time -3F.

Couple more days of it, then it'll
warm up again. Off n on, every few
days like this for a couple months.

This is the most snow we've had this
season at one time.

Enjoy, I am. whole lotta books to read.

Had to deal with white stuff myself yesterday: a five-mile hike barefoot in low 70s weather -- at White Sands National Monument.

P. Dog, not at all. I hate going barefoot and was stunned at how great it felt.

Well Bill I guess I should have put the sarcasm tag on.

But your right the sand dunes are neat.

I ran through snow a couple times bare foot at well below zero.

Just to say a did it one wouldn't get real far with out frost bite or frozen toes.

P.Dog, having spent most of my life in Oregon with its abundant beaches and dunes, I can report the White Sands dunes have a different feel to them.
I should acknowledge that a five-mile hike is next to nada on the scale of accomplishments, but I may be having more back surgery in a few weeks, so I gave myself extra credit I probably did not deserve.

Right now the official depth of the snow on the ground is 40" - which means the side of the roads have a whole lot more. I have never seen this much snow. This am it was -16.

Here, in SW Missouri the weather forecast was for 6-8 inches of snow this past Sunday. That's major for this area which always makes me chuckle as I am from the great white north. The local news channels were pimping this 'storm' for several days leading up to it. All of the Walmart stores were bare shelves by the Friday before. The snow total ended up to be about an inch.

There has been quite a few roof cave-ins this year around here. Today I was driving though Menomonie and saw where a patio had ripped off of the house and collapsed after the home owner raked a bunch of roof snow onto it. The problem isn't in the amount, its that it has all came in the last month and a half. Here in Eau Claire, we have a good shot at breaking the record for most snow in a season.

Your "barefoot" tracks look a whole lot different than mine do. Eeker

Here in SW Montana, I don't remember having this much snow since the late '70s. Right now I'm waiting for it to quit snowing so I can go out and plow my road.

pissers on the next fool who tries to push this Global Warming crap on me. We're having a hard time changing the climate from winter to spring.

You guys think you’ve had a lot of snow? As of a week ago, there were ski resorts around Lake Tahoe, a bit over an hour from my home, that have received over 630” of snow this winter. That’s over 52 feet of snow, cumulatively, over the winter.
