Thought I would post this in case some of our stamp collectors didn't know about it. All of you waterfowl and upland hunters know how bad crows, ravens and varmints are on our eggs and chicks.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

It is interesting that the predator stamp depicts a raven raiding a sage grouse nest, yet ravens are protected. I'm sure sales would increase if the purchase of a stamp would allow the hunting of ravens.

Lots of what some of us consider predators are protected in some areas.

Art is one thing, legalities are another.

Golden Eagles are predators same as coyotes, one is legal to shoot one isn't.

Badgers are predators, here in Texas there is no problem in shooting one, in other states it is illegal.

A raven is a predator and that is probably what the idea behind the stamp was, showing a predator whether it is legal game or not.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

Strongly agree fella's, Raven's are a menace to bird society. Just another BS law to protect a killer.

Sorry, but I strongly disagree with that mentality. I take issue with the idea of killing one species for the sake of "saving" another. Besides, shooting the occasional predator doesn't help game populations as a whole.

Last I checked, ravens are birds, too. So are hawks, owls and eagles. Should we start whacking them?

Too much of anything becomes a problem hartfish. Don't mind if you disagree with me, it's what makes the world go 'round. As a child, I knew men that hunted crows on a regular basis. Now, there is a season in my State and hardly anyone shoots them anymore. Crow's not only account for millions of bird eggs and chicks annually, but crop damages are estimated into the billions. Raptors are not Crows nor Raven's. If we want to manage our game species, then predators must be dealt with and managed as well. I see a future where the anti's and greenie's will eventually get their way; hunting will all but be a thing of the past because hunters never united...only fought & disagreed amongst themselves over any and everything. Regards, David
