Wow! Apparently some folks feel that the "Manhood" of thier 300 WMs is being insulted by claims that such a stubby sawed off cartridge might actually be able to give it a run for its money.

I agree with others that umpteen number of game taken with a 300 WM does not equate to knowelagability reguarding a WSM.

And whining about gunmakers marketing ploys makes not constructive disgussion either. They have their agendas and we have ours. If you dont like their products noone is forcing you to buy them. If they screw up their marketing ideas too much then they will be the first to know.

Those claiming that better efficency in cartridge design is just not possible and that powder capacity is the last word might want to take another look at the age old 308 vs 30-06 debate. After all, isnt that what the WSMs are supposed to be all about? A more efficent magnum? Seems like a worthy goal to me. Id say that even similar results with less powder is a GOOD thing!
