Casey,
Shot my first moose in "67" w/ mod88 Winchester. It was a .243 cal. Used a 100grn. soft point round nose. It had a 52" rack and was a very large boy! It remains my largest to date. Right through the ribs it went; the moose stood his ground for all of 5 seconds and fell to the ground dead!

Older brother shot one the next year just a peach larger with a "massive" 25.06 Mod 70. Same story!

Today our favorite rifles for the job are .338 win mag (mine) and 300 win mag (his.) We simply find them more versatile for our neck 'o' the woods.

What am I getting at...simply put, use the largest bullet for the job, shoot the rifle alot, make the killing shot count, don't sweat the small stuff, and enjoy the meals.

Nozzler partition will do a fine job!
best,
bhtr
