A friend of mine told me today that he had heard of a whitetail supposedly in Texas that has been "valued" at $1,000,000 for the "right" to shoot it. He did not know if it was a high fence hunt or what. Can anyone confirm this? Jim R

A friend left the current issue of Texas Trophy Hunters magazine here at the house last month, after their successful elk hunt. I think it was more work that they're used to. Smiler

Browsing thru it, I was shocked by the pictures of whitetail bucks not just in the 200's, but even into the 300's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just the semen alone is asking a fortune, and the animal itself seems to be a "golden goose".

It has taken farming to a whole new level Frowner

Your friend heard wrong. The deer is a breeding buck that some sources say sold for that amount.

fencing
–noun 1. a barrier enclosing or bordering a field, yard, etc., usually made of posts and wire or wood, used to prevent entrance, to confine, or to mark a boundary.

2. Informal. a person who receives and disposes of stolen goods.

seems both are very appropriate.
