But I like it anyway.....and my cartridge is the 257 Roberts with 90 grain sierra HP.

I love to hunt goats, but don't have anyway to post a picture of my $42.00 goat.

My former hunting partner and I were drawn for the TP&W hunt up on the Rita Blance Grasslands in the north-west corner of the Panhandle.

The application fee was $2.00 and it cost me $40.00 to get the meat processed.

It scored 75 and 4/8ths.

Scottyboy, where were those taken. Your bucks are grand examples. I am in Tucson for some of the year and generally get over to NM to guide come pronghorn season.
I'll try to post a few pictures.....once I figure out how to do same....

It is hard to imagine a hunting season not shooting turbo goats. Here is a picture of the last buck I got. He is small but what made him so much fun was the whole hunt. I left my home in Laramie shortly before 6:00 AM, drove to north of Rawlins (got there about 8 ish. It was over 100 miles), had him on the ground by about 9:00. Drove back to Laramie and butchered him the same day. Didn't get to bed until almost midnight. He was whacked, stacked, hacked, & packed all in one day. And to top it off I got him with a handload from my .243.

YES, I do know the difference, but in Wyoming they are still goats.

I love hunting them 'goats' too!

Alass not enough time and to many other hunts to get in a good lope hunt every year. Maybe next year.

Uummmm DUFFY4, I'm pretty sure that everybody that has ever even heard of a pronghorn knows by now that they are an animal in a class all their own and called a PRONGHORN, but still call them goats or speedgoats out of habit and simpicitiy... But thanks for the Spanish goat pics and the nanny RM goat pic... They're SUPER!! (NOT) note the well placed sarcasim......
An impala male is not really a ram, but people call them that anyway. Same goes for a male klipspringer, springbok, bushbuck, as so on.. Do you post pics of Rocky Mountain Sheep, Dall Sheep, or Argali Sheep on their posts and correct them with BIG BOLD LETTERING as well????

Hey Scottyboy The "Spanish goats" are really not "Spanish goats" as I took the picture in Australia. But the locals call them "Stinkies"

Now if I posted on here "Lets see some pictures of your stinkies" it would probably raise some eyebrows. The Mods. may even stop the thread.

Someone from Australia reading people calling pronghorn "goats" may be confused. I like to call a spade a spade. And a pronghorn a pronghorn. You can call it a goat if you really want to and you could call a deer a hog and a moose a horse.

I love to hunt pronghorn and I sure like some (all) of the fine pics of the trophies here. I particularly like shots with pronghorn habitat in the background.

Entirely unique on this planet, the Pronghorn's scientific name, Antilocapra americana, means "American antelope goat." But the deer-like Pronghorn is neither antelope nor goat -- it is the sole surviving member of an ancient family dating back 20 million years.

I thought most folks referred to them as goats or speedgoats.

The reason that Pronghorns evolved to be able to run at such speeds, is because there were 2 predators in North America at the same time, a cheetah and a long-legged Hyena(I am not BS'ing here, that is what they are called). Nature has a most wonderful way of equipping the experiments it creates, it just sometimes forgets to take the modifacations back, after the reason for them in the first place is no longer present.

There were I believe, 19 or 20 different types of Pronghorn in North America, but devolved down to the one type with 3 sub-species, of which the Sonoran is endangered I believe.

No, the reason they evolved to run so fast is because they saw us at AR coming.

My former hunting partner and I had been putting in for about 4 years when we got drawn. I participate in the draw hunt program each year, and put in for all the gun hunts. I don't put in for the Big Time hunts. Just the ones where you can only apply once in each category. Since 1993, I have averaged being drawn for almost 2 hunts each year. This was my wifes first year to apply with me and we were drawn for a Javelina hunt and for a Spring Turkey hunt.

Not the biggest, but my first and only one.

Crazy, thanks for the reply. I have put in for that tag for the last 9 years and havent drawn it yet. In the last 10 years i have been drawn 1 time for a management hunt. Maybe this will be my year. Thanks Karry

He's not very big, but here is my best Pronghorn...with a muzzleloader too.

Fairchase, getting that goat with a muzzleloader is really special, good looking animal.

Graybird, In all the times I have crossed the Oklahoma panhandle up thru Boise City when headed for an elk hunt in Colorado, I saw pronghorns 1 time. I believe that there might be some record book bucks up there, that might give the ones in Arizona a run for their money.

Jumpalot, those are great looking goats. My first goat hunt was in the Southwest corner of Wyoming, in unit 99, south of Limon.

Sure, it's an 1874 Sharps in .45-100 (aka .45-2.6"). I used a paper patched swaged bullet over about 95 grs of powder. The shot was 260 yds.
