Just put in another $3k towards New Mexico (sheep).
Was adding up how much money I've already sent in towards draws and it isn't pretty.
So far ~$9k and the majority of draws don't happen til around June.

I'll have about $2500-3000 all in once everything is done, but I get a pretty good discount living in CO. I'll have some additional expense if I draw in either Utah or Nevada.

AZ - Elk sent, sheep and deer outgoing next month.

Colorado - deer

Montana - Sheep

Nevada - Deer, elk, desert ans RM sheep

NM - Oryx (success!) antelope, sheep, elk

UT - deer, elk, sheep

WY - elk, moose, sheep, deer and antelope.

Non refundable for points and licenses, around $1,000. Out of pocket, 10 grand and counting, just my tab.

And I put my boys in the game. In MT, NV & UT applying for tags. AZ, WY, CO is points only. There's double the bill.

Nothing for them in NM. No points, and all the cash up front to draw. Didn't want to plop 15K into NM draw game for them.

But my hope is they get enough points by the time they are my age, they can have a sheep hunt or two between them.

More than I care to, but its what you have to do if you want to play the game.

I apply for multiple species in CO, WY, MT, NM, AZ, CA, NV, and deer in KS. Over the years I have drawn Mtn. Goat, Bighorn, AZ elk, MT moose, and multiple other good tags, so it does pay off occasionally! But man, its expensive. Especially buying all the licenses in certain states, just to be eligible for points.

I put in for all the western states. for me, my gpa, brother, and father. just the colorado goat & sheep alone is $14,400! so i'm guessing well over 25k. In the end it almost all comes back, so no big deal. plus application season is pretty fun in itself.
