This is what I love about guiding hunters! Below is 13 yr old Garrett Davidson, with his first goat. He's the son of a long-time client/friend of mine, and guiding him this past weekend to this nice Colorado Antelope was a real pleasure.

The three of us made a 1/2 mile stalk, had the goat at 130 yards, but Garrett just wasn't comfortable with the shot. Finally the buck spooked, and our 3.5 mile walk/stalk began. Garrett was right behind me all the way, but we had to send Bobby (dad) back to the truck, as his un-controlable excitement was more than Garrett could stand Smiler

Finally we got within 160 yards, the buck turned broadside, and Garrett took out his heart with one well placed shot from the .270 WSM. Seeing the excitement on his face, and later his dad's too, was awesome! Garrett's father Bobby, has taken a couple of great deer with me, including a 186" typical whitetail we shot a few years ago, and I guarantee you, he was more excited to see Garrett's trophy, than any deer he's ever shot. Man, I love this stuff!!

Awesome trophy! It's always good to see kids and the ladies take up hunting. That boy's smile is worth a million bucks.

I met that young man and saw his buck. It was as good in person as the photo reveals. Outstanding job all around!

Good on you Aaron.

No telling how I might have turned out if I'd been taken on a guided antelope hunt at 13YOA. Cool
