After years and years of applying my brother drew a Sheep tag this year. Has been a rough start to the season but about 2 weeks into the season he connected with this Ram on Friday evening.
My youngest son and I came up on Saturday morning and helped him cut it up and pack it out.

How old was he?

Wish I would have been able to make it up there this weekend.

Congrats again!

A great ram and a Weatherby kiss to boot! Tell him well done!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

There is a story with that!
He was shooting a mild mannered 30/06 but on his second shot the rest was a bad one, laying prone shooting up hill at the bedded Ram, he said he knew it would scope him in that position but he wanted to shoot before the Ram got up so he shot anyway and was right! he did get scoped.
30/06 shooting old school Winchester 180 grain Silvertips did the trick.

Where about did he shoot it? I used to love photographing sheep between Grant and Guenella Pass.
