EVERY gun owner needs to watch this video.....and watch it now. The "Assault Weapon" ban being proposed by Dianne Feinstein is much, much worse than you probably think it is. It is our duty as gun owners to spread the word, and spread it fast!! Please watch, and share with every gun owner you know.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDglpt8hpyg _______________________________________________________ Hunt Report - South Africa 2022 Wade Abadie - Wild Shot Photography Website | Facebook | Instagram

If they are stupid enough to try, they should have to only look at the background checks just waiting to be approved. When I checked this afternoon, in CO alone there are 12,569 people waiting in line for an approval. It has been the silliest thing I've seen in forever. After the election, 4 years ago, the most people I have ever seen waiting was 600 plus but not on this scale. I believe that they should back up and see how we take our second amendment to heart. But I will pass it on.

If nobody obeys it then what?? Well, that depends how vigorously they wish to pursue enforcement. It would be real easy for them to go by gun stores and see who has purchased what. The BATFE has already done this three and four years back. They have borrowed and have copied FFL holders transfer records. It would be relatively simple then to contact you and tell you to register the gun or provide proof of transfer Should you fail this it wouldn't be very hard for them to notify your employer, credit agencies, etc. that you are a felon. I am sure that they could also utilize some of the provisions of the PATRIOT Act should they so choose. It really wouldn't take much effort on their part to but you in a bind. Talk to someone who has been on the receiving end of an IRS audit. It doesn't take much for the government to put you in a bind for suspicion of doing wrong. Imagine what they could do for someone accused of violating NFA regs. The sad fact is that many will obey it to avoid the consequences of failing to obey. This will make those who refuse to obey more of a target and less likely to be viewed sympathetically by the public as a whole. How many people live in New York, own firearms and register them? It has NOTHING to do with mental health "in their eyes". It is all about control and world domination. Just a short time back a man stabbed a bunch of kids in a pre-school in Communist China, somewhere around 20 kids. It was never mentioned by the drive-by media. That would upset their agenda. Let me tell you what else will come down the pike; Entertainment will be regulated. No more western movies showing the open display of firearms. There will also be a push for a worldwide ban on hunting. (Take away the reason to have firearms altogether) I have heard where the UN wants to implement human corridors for travel only in Africa. The rest would be wildlife sanctuaries. Sound far fetched? Well so did universal health care in the US. Thank you Democrats, independent voters, liberals and NRA slammers. ISS, funny to read another naive guy from the West. Spent a lot of my life in NY State where people understood the power of the government at EVERY level to become little Hitlers when it suited them. Then I moved to Wyoming where most gun owners I know ACTUALLY believe that the president and his tag team will treat us folks out West differently because well ... we are out West. Rather like the Jews in France were treated differently than the ones in Poland. The loons of the left have succeeded in disarming EVERY country they have taken over. READ that three times and tell me how it's gonna be different here. Regulate, Register, Disarm ..... that's the way it has always been done and will be done here as long as the Sheep elect people like Obama, Pelosi and Reid. People may be buying guns like mad BUT when the "men in black" show up at their door they will just hand them over with only a whimper. Read some history and learn. Just one: it was very hard to start a resistance movement in Norway in WW II because all guns were registered. The Nazis got the records and came to your door. You turned them in or were either shot on the spot or "relocated" to a nice place with gas chambers. Heck I even had a friend, born and raised in WY who told me that he voted for Obama because: a) you gotta give the new guy a chance b) he understands things are different out here. Nice thing about humans ...... we never learn a thing from what has happened before. Makes it easier for would be dictators. Are you an NRA Life Member ? If not you should be banned from the site. I don't understand the Bank of America reference though? I read and hear everyones opinion on what our Government is going to do to to solve the "gun problem" pass more laws, eliminate the "gunshow loophole" etc. I've not heard anyone address the elimination of the "Doctor patient confidentiality" loophole that already exists on our current background check forms. All the questions and blanks to be filled in on our existing form are and can be checked during the existing background check except the questions dealing with treatment for Mental illness and Drugs. Lets start by closing that loophole on our existing form?

I emailed my representatives. Got a reply from Michael Burgess this afternoon. He's on our side. Here is his email. See the portion in bold text. Yes it's a Pre-written form letter, but clearly defines his stance. All my representatives, senate and house are conservatives who will likely vote the same. Dear Mr. Reich: Thank you for contacting me about renewed interests in gun control following the events at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. I appreciate hearing from you on this important matter. I, like many Americans, was saddened by the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where 20 children and 6 adults were killed by a gunman who ultimately took his own life. As a father of two teachers, my thoughts and prayers go out to all who were affected by this unspeakable tragedy. Although the investigation is still ongoing, initial reports suggest that the gunman was deeply disturbed and intent on leaving a wake of destruction. As a physician, I believe that mental illness, which afflicts an estimated one in ten children and adolescents in the United States to the point of causing some impairment, is a serious health problem that cannot be ignored. The federal government has programs specifically designed to assist local schools to promoting mental health development in children and adolescents. Immediately following these events in Connecticut, I reached out to most of the superintendents of the area independent school districts to ensure proper safety measures are in place to protect our children in school to the extent possible. You may be interested to know, that one program that are available to schools are the School Resource Officers (SRO). SROs are individuals that directly improve the safety for students, teachers, and administrators in primary and secondary schools throughout our district. You may also be interested to know that over the past two decades, the 26th District of Texas has received over $40 million from the federal COPS grant program to assist local law enforcement agencies. COPS grant have funded 378 additional police officers and sheriff's deputies to engage in community policing activities, including crime prevention, in the 26th District. Within the COPS program, an additional $2 million has been provided to the SRO program An example of how the SRO program is specifically benefiting the 26th District is in Denton School District, the SRO program is a mutually beneficial partnership between the Denton Police Department and the Denton Independent School District. SROs perform a variety of law enforcement functions at Denton ISD schools. However, the primary purpose of school resource officers is to reduce and prevent crime by and against students, committed primarily in or in connection with area schools. There is no denying that this event is indeed tragic; however, this event has not changed my position on the issue of gun control. I am strongly opposed to any limitations on the United States Constitution's Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners. While no one condones the purchase and use of guns by felons or other high-risk individuals to perpetrate any crime, we must not improperly hamper the right of law-abiding citizens to bear or purchase arms. If we are to honor and uphold our nation's Constitution, this right cannot be infringed. The key to curbing the unlawful use of firearms is the stricter enforcement of existing laws. There are about 20,000 firearms laws already on the books in this country. To prevent crime, we must fully enforce those laws already on the books. I am disappointed to see the proposals currently being discussed by Members of Congress are merely an attempt to make people feel more secure without providing any real security. Someone who is truly intent on using a gun to commit a crime will find a way to obtain one regardless of what laws are imposed. We cannot erode our constitutional rights in the name of crime prevention, and I will oppose any legislation that seeks to do so. Please be assured that I will continue to pay very close attention to the continuing debate on gun ownership rights and the mental health issues. As these developments continue, you may be assured that I will keep your views in mind should legislation relating to gun rights and mental health be considered by the full House. Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate having the opportunity to represent you in the U.S. House of Representatives. Please feel free to visit my website (www.house.gov/burgess) or contact me with any future concerns. Sincerely, Michael C. Burgess, M.D. Member of Congress

It could be that we'll never see another traditional Republican President of the USA, especially given the changing demographics of this country. BUT, we can continue to control the House of Representatives, but only if we strongly support our local House representative. WE MUST START TO WORK TO GET OUR REGIONAL REPUBLICAN REPRESENTATIVE RE-ELECTED AND UN-ELECT ANY DEMOCRATIC REPRESENTATIVE!!! This means going to the local Republican Party meetings, volunteering, and going door-to-door to get out the vote and communicate the benefits of the traditional, conservative, and/or libertarian philosophies. Don't expect the national Republican Party to get it done for us - they have some very serious leadership problems! They can't seem to get the message across to people in an effective fashion. Complacency will be the end of the 2nd amendment. Indeed, folks like us were too complacent in the last election. We should seriously consider having the NRA with the SCI put forth an effective plan allowing responsible (law abiding) gun owners and sportsmen to self-police gun ownership, gun use, and the gun industry, so as to help prevent crazies and criminals from having guns. Otherwise, these lunatics and criminals will do us all in - that is, in the end, only lunatics, criminals, and the government will have guns. WE NEED TO TAKE CONTROL OF THIS ISSUE, or someone else will!! Regards, AIU

Same here steve robinson... and I live in Colorado where they are trying to circumvent the 2nd amendment at the state level as well. As the link to the Politico article posted by Fury makes clear, there is more and more discussion of how difficult an actual "assault weapons" ban will be. What we may see is more worthless actions like hi cap magazine bans, etc. worthless because deranged people aren't deterred by any laws anyway, and with two mags taped back to back I have a double size mag that will take about 2 seconds to flip around. The anti's will continue to chip away in any way they can. It is imperative to fight for our rights every step along the way. I ask, at what point does civil disobedience become necessary? I feel confident that the considerable political expertise of the left asks this as well. How far can we go without inciting riot? Must go carefully, a little at a time, to reach the goal of disarmament. With the likes of Feinstein proposing, essentially, to do away with the 2nd amendment, I sometimes find myself envisioning a sudden ban and wondering how to respond. That would seem to be a clear indicator it is time for civil disobedience, and it would have be on a massive scale to be effective, but what would that look like? Would it look something like a refusal on the part of the people to comply, and a refusal on the part of the various law enforcement agencies to take action against the people? They are sworn to defend the constitution. How serious is this taken in law enforcement circles? Does the law enforcement community subscribe to the same political double talk that the constitution means what ever the radical left wants it to mean, and not what is plainly written? It sometimes looks a lot like we are being threatened with the very sort of tyrannical governmental actions that the 2nd amendment was put in place to defend against. I believe we all need to be very proactive at this time and contact our elected representatives. Join the NRA, send them money. I am joining the Rock Mountain Gun Owners to contribute to the fight here at the state level. I would far rather fight to defend our constitution politically, than have to fight for it literally. This is a lot bigger than just gun control. I believe the future well-being of our country, our national security, and our individual freedoms are at stake.
