Looking at reloading data and noslers 286 grain bullet this cartridge looks like it would be be a good choice for moose and would be a good choice for brown bear too.
What do you guys think?

It is...think of it as being between a 35 Whelen and a 375 H&H.

I think very much of it, so I bought a gun.

CZ 550 Stutzen ( full stocked ) in 9.3x62. Its a dandy to carry, the trigger is super, but for maximum from the 9.3 cartridge, I sometimes wish i had chosen the longer barreled model.

Perhaps after some game shot, i might buy a second one??

Good shooting! H

RMiller.....Somebody, I believe it was Ray Atkinson, described it as " a .35 Whelen on steroids"...

In any case, I bought a CZ 550 American and plan to try it out on Alaskan moose and caribou next September..

I haven't tried the Nosler partition, but it would be an excellent choice..My rifle is very accurate with all bullets I've tried, but the best performer so far is the 250 Barnes X bullet.....I'm getting half inch three shot groups at 2500 fps....Never expected varmint rifle accuracy out of that rig, nor do I need it, but it is the most accurate hunting rifle in my cabinet....

Hi!

Maybe the best bullet will be Swift A-frame 250grains. It`s a better bullet than the Partion and it will also give you higher speed

Hi,

the old 9,3 will all the things do you want!
Its no problem to get about 5000J out of a 24" barrel.
I would suggest the 15g Oryx-very often used in Germany- or the 250grs A-Frame.
Data on request.
