This monster was shot in the ranch of gentleman friend of mine who sent me this picture, it is the biggest buck both of us have ever seen and he states he has never seen a bigger one in all his years outfitting. I know the score and will post it later. Any guesses?

We killed a deer that looks so similar to that back in 2002 up north of Hermosillo and about 15 miles south of Benjamin Hill. 135-138"? Hard to tell without any depth perception but a world class Coues regardless

Magnificent little Giant!

I would take him without hesitation, admire him and never put a tape to him.

It seems anti-climatic to reduce him to inches.

I would love to hear the story of the hunt!

One heck of a coues deer for sure! Never been good with the whole scoring thing, but I looks bigger than the 10 point south Texas whitetail I shot last year.

super nice deer! I agree with the earlier comment about "reducing him to inches" just put him on the wall in a place of honor!
having said that...... I can't help but make a guess on the score, so I would say 155"ish" gross, and low to mid 140's net.

151 inches and probably the nicest Coues buck I have ever laid eyes on....

Nice buck! I'd guess somewhere between 138-142 gross. Net would depend on if it's scored as a typical or not. As a typical probably about 127-130.

For comparison, Sergio Orozco's on the cover of my book is the current P&Y world-record typical. It officially netted 130 1/8 and grossed about 144. The drop tine (right side- hard to see in this photo) was a minus six inches by itself.

128"

i think the deer on tony's book looks much bigger than this one with much longer tines, but its not two similar photographs, so its difficult to tell.

I will try to get more pictures that show more angles of the buck, but it was scored by the clients at 162" gross, So crazyhorseconsulting was the closest!

He'll net ~115-120 maybe, gross ~125-130. Tines are a bit short. Photo perspective can make things look bigger than they are, but definitely B&C quality.

Would love to see more pictures Manuel. Judging from pictures can be incredibly difficult, especially when all you have for reference is a persons wrist. Based on that I just can't come up with 162", or really anywhere close to that, but I've been wrong before and more pictures would certainly help.

As for the client scoring the deer, I've had clients score things 20-30" bigger than what I score them at or what an official measured scored them at.

Not saying the client is wrong but would love to see more pictures to see where I may be off on my estimations. As some have said, to reduce an animal like that to merely inches is tragic. World class animal no matter the "score"

Thank you sir

Here we go again. Frowner

Can't you guys just say "Great buck" and move on? Who gives a rat's ass if the client's rough score is accurate. It's his deer and if he wants it to score 200" it's his perogative.

Well, since you asked, apparently several people would like to know a final score. If that concerns you, don't open the thread again would be my advice.

I'm certain that no one who posted on this thread would not be thrilled to have killed that deer and many in here did say "Great Buck", or similar, but the OP asked for guesses as to size, and most seem to think the hunter's scoring might be generous. That would not be unheard of AND he is entitled to his opinion, but there is only one set of facts (score).

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Guys I knew this was bound to create some controversy, I will make sure to post the other pictures were the size shows better and get the official score as soon as I can, i am deeply sorry if i was misleading or anything with my post my main objective was sharing the picture of a great buck and have some fun with score guessing, but it is true that if I open this kind of threads I should clarify things. Will do as soon as I can tu2

It is not any fault of yours. Stay around long enough and you will find out that some folks on here will question whether the Sun rises in the East and sets in the West.

No matter the score, it is a great deer and the hunter is very fortunate in having killed it.

Manuel,

No controversy my friend. Tony must have missed my last sentence where I said it was tragic to reduce the greatness of that coues deer to merely inches. It's an incredible deer. Absolutely world class no matter the score

I was off by quite a bit and don't see where I was off. I'm sure more pictures will clarify that. I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers but apparently Tony's got ruffled anyway. My apologies if my post came off in a derogatory manner as that was not my intent. My post was more out of curiousity and I would by lying if I told you I wasn't hoping you would post more pictures of that giant.

Saludos

My friend in no moment I felt your comment to be derogatory neither none made by anyone in this post, I just wanted to clear that it is my bad not to have posted all the appropriate pictures in order for us to have a better view and a good discussion. In all honesty I was a little surprised when they told me the 162" score, with my experience with coues deer I guessed him at around 140 the first time I saw it, I will post the other pictures as soon as I get them, glad we can all agree it is a great coues buck! tu2
