What is the hunting situation down around the Trinidad area? I have spent a lot of time in Colorado Over the years, and hunted around Gunnison quite a bit. Last weekend traveled through the Trinidad / Raton area for the first time. I like it. Just wondering what the opportunities there look like. I hunted that area while in gunsmith school. Lots of Elk and over the counter tags. Plenty of land as well. | |||

Seems like there is some good hunting in the region. I've only hunted it once on a turkey tag. While chasing turkey's that spring, I saw elk, deer, and bear. I hunted there with full draw outfitters. We saw elk everyday. Also mule deer antelope and one bear. It was all private land though. I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same. | |||
