Anybody here ever gone after one of these things? If so, I'd like to hear about it and also maybe get some info on a decent guide/outfitter for them.I've been thinking about it just for a chance to do something different. Sounds as though it could be interesting. Mac

I have a good 'Gator outfitter in Louisiana. They take some pretty good ones every year. It's supposed to be a pretty fun hunt, althoguh I have never done one myself. They usually fish for Speckled Trout and Reds after the morning Alligator hunts. To catch the Gators, they set baited hooks, then come check them in the morning. You can elect to pass him if it's not big enough and they will release it if possible. That's pretty much the only way to hunt them or they'll sink when you shoot them. If you're interested, send me an e-mail and I will mail a packet.

I take it the days of spotlights and weighted clubs are over. Too bad, but that would have been the good ol' days, too. Gators are not too damned aweful difficult to find and kill. This isn't even as challenging as hunting bison in a 15,000 acre pasture.
