I'm striking out faster than a peewee team.

I figure we're roughly half way through the draws (have about 6-7 pts in each-sheep, elk and deer) and so far - nada.
Course I'm going for the better units too.

How ya'll doing?

After banking 12 NV elk points I finally found someone to swap hunt with. No dice, no draw. Just went more points for CO and UT. I've stopped trying to draw OR. Might be doing some OTC hunt this year.

It is tough even living here. Our group (of 6) didn't draw anything. Not even a general season deer permit. We applied for 3 high quality hunts which should have been 100% (al 3 hunts took two less points last year than we had this year- which means they jumped 2 levels in points) and a couple medicore hunts with better odds.

I have a 12 year old boy and no tag for him yet. We'll have to work at finding a new place this Fall-- maybe a leftover deer in WY. I hate the whole "drawing game" we have to go through every year just to hunt. It almost seems like a guy has to plan it years in advance and then even the best plan (such as ours this year) doesn't come through. (Is my frustration showing?) Smiler

Struck out in Utah on Muzzleloader Elk, and thought Colorado lost my application for a Cow tag ...turned out I entered the wrong birthday with a typo and did draw the tag under another ID .......It took a couple of calls to find a freindly young woman who corrected my error. So OTC Bull and cow for me this year.

So far, I only drawn in state tags.

CO - Bear
CO - Deer 3rd season
CO - Antelope doe

I still have chances for NM and OK. We'll see how they turn out.

Nothing yet for me this year, with only California left. Putting in for points only in Arizona, which kinda sucks since I have max deer points and 16 sheep points to go along with 14 elk and 18 pronghorn points there.

Struck out in Nevada, which did surprise me a bit since I have 13 pronghorn points and 12 elk point...one of these days.

Normally, I put myself and son in for everything in every western state, but skipped some states and species this year due to tight finances. Next year I expect things to be back to normal.

Max points for everything in CA., so I'm figuring that all this bad luck is gonna end with a tule elk tag, or a desert sheep tag. Big Grin

I drew Antelope in CO but no deer tag (1st time drawing in CO in 10 years). Glad to be in TN. We get 3 WT bucks per season and 3 does per day during the entire season. Black Bear and Boar are OTC and 4 toms during spring and 6 birds during fall. We draw 4 bull Elk tags each year (open draw) and sell 1 bull tag. No other big game here other than exotics on hunting preserves.

Drew a muzzleloader bull tag and a buck antelope tag for Colorado. Will also hunt a pronghorn doe and cow elk via leftover private land tag.
