"Although the 1902 hunt in Mississippi is much better known, Roosevelt actually succeeded in tracking and killing a black bear during a 1907 hunting trip in the Northeast Louisiana canebrakes." The 1902 hunt resulted in the Teddy Bear. -Bob F. The History of The Teddy Bear http://teddybearandfriends.com/history.html http://www.theodoreroosevelt.org/kidscorner/tr_teddy.htm

Nickudu, Thank you very much for this post. Isn't it great reading about leaders who believed in sportsmanship and loved the outdoors? I wish someone would explain to the greenies that it is men like these who culd be trusted to preserve the environment and not the cannabis smoking Greenpeace supporters. Good hunting!
