Just finished reading Peter Lessler's book Shooter's Guide to Rifle Marksmanship. I did not have anyone to teach me solid basic technique for practical positions rifle shooting with a sling. I discovered this book after reading Rifleslinger's Art of the Rifle Blog. I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Lessler's book and in my opinion it does an excellent job of discussing the basics of rifle shooting using positions and how to make them work. The book has many good illustrations and a couple of chapters devoted to Ballistics, wind doping, and understanding MOA. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in practical aided and unaided rifle shooting techniques. It is not a dedicated long range shooting/hunting book.

Ben: Too few shooters know how to use a shooting sling. Even fewer carry one. You don't need a bipd or shooting sticks out to 300 yards if you know how to use a sling. I practice with mine every week at 500 yards.
