Just got this in an email...

As much as the guy got on my nerves on his TV show, I would never wish this on my worst enemy.. The man knew how to to live life to the fullest, no matter if you argeed with him or not.

What an unfortunate turn of events. Hope he pulls through.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

As much as I hate that self-grandizing blowhard, I wouldn't wish half of that on anyone.

Don't always agree with him but I respect the fact that he sticks to his principles. His show is always entertaining.

Best of luck to him and his family on a speedy recovery.

My friends that know Tred tell me he's no BS. He is just as straight in life as he is on his show. I salute him for doing things his way, even if it varies from my way. I sent him a get well wish from all of us at AR.
Regards,
David

I also just emailed a note of encouragement to Tred from the address posted in the newsclip.

Our paths crossed briefly in the local sporting goods store a couple of year ago. He was a hoot and seemed like the real deal. One way or another he gets to hunt and fish more different places than I do. Good for him.

I wish him God's grace and a full and quick recovery.

On his way to Alaska to tape his TV show, Tred Barta recently suffered a rare occurrence called a spinal stroke. He is currently paralyzed from just below the chest down. Prognosis is way up in the air at the moment. His message to everyone is… "Don't take a single second of your life for granted." Send him best wishes at tred.barta@bartaiso.com.

What a horrible turn of events. Any one of us can put ourselves in that position. On the way to do a hunt and ... bam!

My wishes for a full recovery.

I always enjoyed his shows with Sven (or whatever that big dude's name was) on his fishing shows. I got a kick out of watching Tred berate that gorilla knowing that guy could just squeeze him to death. LOL
I appreciated Tred's style to show that hunting isn't always done from 100 yds +. Now watching him shoot ducks with a stick was a little much.
